FACT: The most surefire way to activate a craving for Italian food is to watch any episode of The Sopranos. Fact.
I know what you're thinking, I know what you're thinking – how many fucking shows is this douchebag watching? Answer: a lot. Game of Thrones, The Legend of Korra, Breaking Bad, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Batman Beyond, The Walking Dead and now The Sopranos. Fuck, I've even seen Sopranos before – I'm just watching it with the missus.
I seem to have an unlimited capacity for input. I will consume and devour all television shows of quality, all to fuel the ever-spinning wheels of my hungry imagination.
Bring me your televisions, world. Bring them to my face.

Monday Morning Cartoons
In a similar vein to yesterday's post, I've found myself illegally streaming episodes of Batman Beyond, a show I only caught fragments of as a child on the famed CW, back when they still called it WB.
Not heard of it? Anime-inspired cyberpunk Batman.
Do you need any more convincing?
A geriatric Bruce Wayne (pushing 70, I believe) conscripts a young man with a similar taste for vengeance to continue his legacy as Batman in the year 2039. Great premise, decent execution, diverting enough for a children's show and lots of juicy worldbuilding for continuity fans. Stockhard Channing as non-crippled Police Commissioner Barbara Gordon? Yes please. Hovercycle gangs wearing clown make-up and calling themselves, in a deliciously late 90s way, the Jokerz? Yes please. Giant snarling wolfhound stalking Wayne Manor named Ace? Yes, yes, please.
(Oh, before I forget, new content posted on www.whoisnemo.com - go meet Moira!)

Vrooooooom
5 days.
A few days after Valentine's Day, I received a package from the missus containing, among pistachios, a coloring book, Star Wars fruit snacks and many other surprises, this bad boy.
That's right, reader. You're jealous. I can feel it.
Behold the Arkham Asylum Hot Wheels Batmobile. I think it costs $1.65 and is unironically one of my favorite presents I've ever received. I will seriously derive hours and hours of enjoyment out of this. The missus knows me too well.
I've literally put on the Arkham City Soundtrack and driven around the living room, up sheer chair legs and off tabletops. For like, an hour.
Excuse me. Gotham calls.

The Thugging Poor
DISCLAIMER:I have an unhealthy, Hugo Strange-esque obsession with Batman. If you're uncomfortable with the idea of someone hyper-analyzing the psychology of minor, unnamed comic book characters, you might wanna give this one a pass. Fair warning and all that.
I can't imagine working class crime is much of a growth industry in Gotham. As if the presence of Batman wasn't enough, there's rival gangs, frequent cataclysms and, of course, murderous, psychopathic supervillains as one's primary source of employment. Despite all this, however, the market seems to be flooded with thousands upon thousands of repeat offenders, cheap thuggery with little or no hope of progressing up the chain of command or even making a decent living who continually return to the same rackets and the same syndicates time and time again.
The Batman offers broken bones, compound fractures and inevitable detainment, once again, to Blackgate Penitentiary. Barring, say, The Riddler or some of the less brutal mobs, practically every crime boss, from the Roman to the Penguin to the Joker, all boast disgustingly high turn-over rates for their gorillas and bodyguards. Assuming the normal forces of law, order and due process don't put an end to your career, there's still the infinitely wealthy and seemingly omniscient masked vigilante with mastery of every known martial art and a bottomless bag of hyper-advanced weapons to contend with, not to mention the escaped homicidal psychopath who's equally, if not more likely, to kill you as write your checks.
Still. I bet Gotham City goons don't eat Ramen for every meal.
